Recommended needle size is 4.5 - 5.5mm (US 7 - 9) for an approx gauge of 4 - 5 stitches per 2.5cm / 1".
Sweater is a Blue Sky staple! This versatile yarn is soft, family friendly and machine washable.
The perfect blend of superwash wool and organic cotton, this yarn is perfect right next to the skin.
The super fun palette of colours is great for both adults and kids.
Sweater is smooth with a pleasant twist which makes it perfect for showing up texture, but also very neat in stocking stitch.
The cotton content gives it a heavier handle than a pure wool yarn. It also makes it stronger and less elastic.
This is one of the only all-natural-fibre yarns that you can safely put in not only the washer but the dryer too (tumble dry low until damp-dry, lay flat to air dry until fully dry.) [But we would still advise handwashing and drying for all our yarns.]

And while our exclusive offerings have grown beyond alpaca to include wool, organic cotton and silk, our desire for getting makers of all stripes excited about natural fibers and knitting hasn’t changed one bit. It all winds back to the yarn, ensuring that every precious, handmade hank is lovingly filled with endless inspiration.Blue Sky Fibers started as a pet project, of sorts. Shortly after graduating college, owner/founder Linda Niemeyer's curious preoccupation with Alpacas led to her buying one. Soon Linda found herself with a lot of yarn on hand. She took it to a nearby yarn store, which was willing to buy and sell it. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Today Blue Sky Fibers is known worldwide for its consciously crafted collection of high-quality natural fibers and patterns. One can only imagine how things might have turned out differently had Linda been obsessed with giraffes instead.
